A few practical tips to help you enjoy your yoga class to the full.
Avoid heavy meals for around two to three hours before class. Light, simple food is usually best. With regular practice, you may gradually become more aware of which foods make your body feel comfortable and which do not.
If you need something shortly before class, choose a small, light snack. We generally don’t drink during the practice itself, so make sure you are comfortably hydrated beforehand. Water is the best choice — just avoid drinking too much immediately before class.
We practise barefoot on yoga mats rather than camping or fitness mats. Practising barefoot gives you better stability, grip and direct contact with the mat.
You can rent or buy a yoga mat at the studio. For hygienic and practical reasons, we recommend having your own if you practise regularly — it doesn’t have to be purchased from us.
Choose light, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely — neither too loose nor too restrictive. Keep in mind that during yoga we bend, stretch and sometimes turn upside down.
As classes are practised in a group and can get sweaty, please use deodorant and bring a small towel or scarf if you need one.

Yoga can sometimes bring up unexpected physical or emotional responses. You may experience moments of release, including laughter or tears, and that is perfectly natural.
Practice can also make you more aware of areas of tightness, old injuries or discomfort that you may not usually notice. Listen to your body and never force your way through pain. If anything feels unusual or concerning, speak to your teacher and, where appropriate, consult a healthcare professional.
Massage can also complement a regular yoga practice by helping the body relax and recover.
Our classes are taught in Slovak. Our teachers speak English and are happy to answer your questions before or after class — and much of yoga can be followed simply by watching and breathing along.
Most people can begin practising yoga in some form. The hardest part is often simply starting and returning to the practice regularly.
Yoga can gradually become more than a form of exercise — a way of living with greater awareness, lightness, depth and contentment.
You can rent a mat at the studio for 50 cents.
